Rental Terms and Conditions

By renting equipment or purchasing services from Rastipisto, the customer agrees to comply with the following rental and cancellation terms.

1. General Conditions

All equipment is delivered in good condition and ready for use.
Rental fees are paid at the time of rental by cash, MobilePay, bank transfer, E-pass, or invoice (sent via email in advance).

The customer is responsible for taking good care of the rented equipment and using it with the same care as their own property. All equipment must be returned in the same condition as when rented. Any damages, losses, or missing parts must be compensated by the customer.

2. Use of Equipment

Customers are not allowed to make modifications or adjustments to the rented equipment.
If an item is damaged during the rental period, the renter must cover the repair costs (replacement part + labor).
If the equipment is lost or destroyed, compensation will equal the full replacement value of a new equivalent product.

All equipment is rented and used at the customer's own risk. The customer is responsible for their own valid insurance. Rastipisto is not liable for illness, injury, or damage to personal belongings during the trip.

By renting, the customer releases Rastipisto from all liability for injuries or damages caused to the renter or others.

3. Safety and Responsibilities

The customer must immediately report any defects or issues found in the equipment.
The customer is responsible for following all transportation and safety regulations while using the equipment.

Paddling is at the renter's own risk and swimming ability is required.
A life jacket must be worn at all times, and other safety gear used when necessary.

Be especially cautious in rapids or flowing waters — never paddle alone in rapids.

4. Rental Period and Returns

The rental period begins at the agreed pickup time and location, and ends when the equipment is returned or left at the agreed drop-off point.

If the equipment is returned late or not at all, additional rental fees may be charged until the equipment is recovered.

The equipment may not be subrented or taken outside Finland without prior agreement.

5. Cancellations

  • Cancellations at least 72 hours before the rental start: No charge

  • Cancellations 72–24 hours before the rental start: 50% charge

  • Cancellations less than 24 hours before the rental start: 100% charge

Rastipisto reserves the right to require a security deposit of up to €300 per packraft, payable up to 24 hours before the rental period. The deposit is refunded after the equipment has been returned and inspected.

6. Force Majeure

In case of force majeure (e.g. severe weather, natural disaster, or other unforeseen event), Rastipisto reserves the right to cancel the rental.
The customer will be informed immediately and will receive a full refund of any payments made.

Rastipisto's liability is limited to providing the agreed equipment at the agreed time and manner.

7. Validity

These rental and cancellation terms are valid until further notice.
